By default, ANY-maze automatically assigns numbers to your animals. However, you can choose to use your own animal IDs instead.
- Navigate to the Protocol page and scroll down to Animal ID.
- Check the box labeled “Use my IDs to refer to animals.”
- Go to the Experiment page and select “View animals” at the top.
- You’ll now see a column where you can enter your custom animal IDs. It is case-sensitive, and can accommodate any characters.

After you input your animal IDs, ANY-maze will refer to your animals as such moving forward, making testing clear and organized.
Note: The order in which you enter the IDs determines the testing sequence. While you can skip an animal’s test on the Tests page if needed, it’s easiest to input them in the desired testing order from the start.
