ANY-maze can be set to play white noise through your computers speakers. It will do this all the time, irrespective of whether you have an experiment loaded or you are performing tests – basically if ANY-maze is running, white noise will be played.
Here’s how to set this up:
- Switch to the I/O page
- Click the Set up devices button shown in the ribbon bar at the top of the page
- In the window that opens, select the sound card you wish to use to play white noise
- In the drop list at the bottom of the window select the option Use this soundcard as the white noise generator on the I/O page
- Click the OK button
To actually start white noise playing, just click the Play noise button in the ribbon bar on the I/O page. You can also use the Speaker volume button to adjust the volume of the generated noise. One final point – once you set white noise to play, it will start automatically whenever you run ANY-maze.
